The Red Eye Flight

Ryan Adams & the Cardinals 2/21 Boston

Posted in live music, ryan adams by huckd on February 23, 2009

The hecklers and chatty teeny-boppers who only cared about songs off Cardinology were abound, but Ryan Adams shined at the Orpheum Theater.  Highlights included a strong vocal performance on “Oh My God Whatever, Etc.” and the heavy hitter, Alice in Chains cover “Down in a Hole.” Who knew the heart breaker could play a damn decent guitar solo too? Adams was bouncy and had fun with the crowd, commenting that the Boston crowd is a consistent loud and energetic group. He is clearly at a good point in his career where he can truly focus on his songwriting and live performances, and this show was proof.
