I wrote about it on March 14, and today Phish.com has confirmed it! Phish will be playing Fenway Park on May 31. You can enter the ticket lottery here, which ends Sunday April 12 at midnight. Tickets will then go onsale to the general public beginning April 17. Tickets are $49.50.
For a special Fenway/Phish video honoring the announcement of the event go here.
In other news, opening day at Fenway today was a soggy mess and is postponed until tomorrow at 4.
Information from a Live Nation source is slipping through the cracks about a possible Phish summer tour opener at Fenway Park on May 31. Their first confirmed gig of the summer tour, as it stands now, is June 4 at the Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, NY.
The Dave Matthews Band will be performing two shows at Fenway on May 29 and 30, so Fenway will be in “concert-mode.”
For the rest of Phish’s 2009 summer tour dates, go here.
To try your chance of being perhaps one of the 100 people to attend this intimate gig next Wednesday March, 11, listen to any one of the following radio stations for your opportunity to get in the door. I’m not going to spell out all the minute details needed to win (hey I want to get in, too!), but these links will provide enough information necessary to find call in times, etc.

Internet rumblings are pointing to a run of radio performances, plus the possibility of a secret gig or two in New York, LA, Chicago and Boston. The rumor has it that U2 will perform at the Paradise in Boston, even though it is booked that night by the reggae troupe the Wailers.
The air wave take over is in preparation for the release of U2′s new album, “No Line on the Horizon.”
Here is what their schedule is shaping up to look like:
March 2 to 6: David Letterman performances plus a private gig at Fordham University on 3/6
March 9: L.A. performance
March 10: Chicago performance
March 11: Boston performance
Radio station 104.1 WBCN of Boston says there will be a “major U2 concert annoucement” on air at 7:15 a.m. Monday.
Thanks to Eric Danton for the tip-off.
